On Saturday, 6 September, Lagoon Sport Club packed up and headed to Abeokuta, the historic capital of Ogun State, for a day that brought together everything the club stands for: friendship, culture and football.
A visit to Olumo Rock
The trip began at the famous Olumo Rock, one of Nigeria’s best-known heritage sites and a symbol of Abeokuta’s history. Members explored the grounds, took in the views of the ancient city and, of course, stopped for plenty of photos at the iconic golden statue at the foot of the rock.

It was a chance to slow down, share stories and enjoy each other’s company away from the usual weekend routine. From the climbs to the laughter on the benches below the rock, the day had a relaxed, family feel that summed up the spirit of the Lagooners.

Lagoon Sport Club vs All Stars Football Club Abeokuta
The football followed. Lagoon Sport Club took on All Stars Football Club Abeokuta in a friendly match, with both sides putting on an entertaining, competitive game in a great atmosphere.
A big thank you to All Stars Abeokuta for hosting us and for the warm welcome throughout the day.
